Donna R. Cryer, JD, is Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Global Liver Institute (GLI), the premier patient advocacy organization in liver health. In the field of fatty liver disease Mrs. Cryer has established the GLI NASH Council which has more than 90 organizational members across cardiovascular, endocrine, obesity medicine, nutrition, and sports. Mrs. Cryer has been a co-author on more than a dozen peer reviewed articles and has served on the AASLD NASH Steering Committee, the AASLD/AACE Guidelines Review Committee, member of the FNIH Biomarkers Consortium, and was the first patient to serve on the ABIM Gastroenterology Specialty Board.
Currently Mrs. Cryer serves on the boards of the Council for Medical Specialty Societies (CMSS), Sibley Memorial Hospital/Johns Hopkins Medicine, and the Executive Committee for the FDA/Duke Clinical Trials Transformation Initiative.
Mrs. Cryer received an undergraduate degree from Harvard and a Juris Doctorate from the Georgetown University Law Center.
